The Chef's Academy Hosts American Heart Association Go Red For Women Networking Event
Local Culinary Institution Educates Circle Of Red Group With Lessons On Healthy Ingredient Substitutes In Meals.
- Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease) April 21, 2012 - The Chef's Academy (http://www.thechefsacademy.com), the Culinary Division of Harrison College, a 110-year-old, nationally accredited institution that offers 40 degree programs in five schools of study, has announced it hosted the American Heart Association's Go Red For Women group, Circle of Red, for a cooking seminar on heart-healthy ingredient substitutes in meals. Members of the group were paired with culinary students, who prepared heart-healthy meals for tasting. Group leaders educated participants on the No. 1 killer of women in the United States - heart disease. Since 2004, Go Red For Women's mission has been to save lives by bringing a voice to the often silent and deadly disease.
"The Chef's Academy was honored to host the American Heart Association's local Go Red For Women group, Circle of Red," said Jayson M. Boyers, national division president of The Chef's Academy. "This event allowed our culinary students to plan meals and prepare ingredients with heart-healthy options for giving these women a way to improve health and ultimately save lives."
