The Box Contemporary Art Gallery Celebrates Its One Year Anniversary With Kraken And Kraten

To celebrate one year of amazing art and exciting exhibitions, The Box contemporary art gallery is proud to present new works by artists Aaron Kraten and Keith Noordzy. This collection of mixed media illustration and figurative paintings will open at the Costa Mesa gallery on Saturday, January 17, 2009, from 7:00 PM until 10:00 PM. The exhibition will run through the beginning of March.

Orange County, CA (1888PressRelease) January 07, 2009 - “In commemoration of our one-year anniversary, I would like to thank all the artists, collectors, press, patrons and visitors for your interest and support the past year,” says Johnny Sampson, curator at The Box. “The last twelve months have seen incredible change—it has been an exciting year and we look forward to the next! We at The Box gallery have renewed our commitment to showcase challenging work by incredible emergent artists. To honor this promise and celebrate the New Year, it is The Box gallery’s proud pleasure to exhibit Aaron Kraten and Keith Noordzy for our anniversary exhibition”.

Southern California artist Aaron Kraten manipulates mixed media and discarded objects to parse narrative into figurative and pictorial symbols. Manipulating finger paint and Polaroid, found objects and technological detritus, Kraten creates a unique and alluring commentary upon fashion, technology and cultural isolation. For more information about Kraten and to view his work go to: www.aaronkratenart.com.

Video game artist, professional illustrator, toy designer, and Los Angeles based painter, Keith Noordzy brings a fun flare and playfulness to today's urban art scene. By juxtaposing cute, lighthearted characters with dark undertones, Noordzy creates a childlike world that comes to life with wonder and excitement. Please visit Noordzy at www.wonderingart.com.
