October 17, 2007 - For the 5th year, Black Book has sponsored the Annual Lucie Awards on October 15th, at Lincoln Center.
The Black Book's CEO Joe Resudek will be presenting an award for “The Fashion Layout of the year” nominees included Ogilvy & Mather, DDB, TBWA Chiat Day and Saatchi and Saatchi. The Lucie Awards salutes the accomplishments of the world's best photographers, as well as aid in discovering new talent with the International Photography Awards, all the while promoting photography admiration on a world wide level.
Because of Black Book and the Lucie Awards shared affinity for photography, it seems only natural that the Black Book would participate in the evening's festivities. CEO Joe Resudek is participating for the first time as a presenter.
"The Black Book has been a part of the commercial photography industry for almost 40 years. When I travel around the country, I meet photographers who have every volume we've ever produced archived. They tell me that The Black Book was an iconic resource they grew up on.
We think that our involvement in the Lucie Awards is a continuation of our commitment to the industry we helped to build," says Resudek.
The awards will honor photographers in various categories including lifetime achievement, visionary, humanitarian, and achievement in advertising, documentary, fine art, photojournalism, portraiture, sports, and fashion. Black Book is proud to be a part of paying homage to the stand out talent from this year.
"Just like other creative industries, it is important that we honor the best work in our field. The Lucie Awards presents an opportunity for this industry to honor its own and create a standard for achievement for generations to come. We're proud that The Black Book continues to be a part of that growth," says Resudek.
The Black Book, with offices in New York, Chicago, and San Francisco, is recognized as the industry's leading resource for artists and creative professionals. The company publishes four award-winning sourcebooks: Black Book Illustration, The AR100 Award Show book, The Creative Industry Directory, and Black Book Photography. The company also recently unveiled RAW Magazine, an edgy resource, and launched Black Book ReMiX, a new photography sourcebook organized by category.
