May 24, 2009 - The AOF International Film Festival, which will be held in Pasadena July 24th through the 31st 2009, has announced that the Sheraton Hotel of Pasadena will be the host hotel and exclusive provider of lodging for all AOF guest, both domestic and international. AOF Producer said, “We have worked with a number of hotels in the past but to be associated with the Sheraton means that our guest will be staying at the premier hotel in Pasadena. Its location and proximity to all of our venues and events makes it the perfect choice for everyone attending this event.”
With an expectation of nearly 20,000 guests the AOF Festival is one of, if not, Pasadena’s biggest week long live event. It’s so big in fact that THE Magazine, Pasadena’s high end living magazine, has seen fit to become the media sponsor for the festival.
Weston went on to say, “The AOF International Film Festival is more than just 500 films, scripts, producers and directors. This show also includes private parties at Pasadena’s most prestigious venues, including Gale Anne Herd’s Vertical Wine Bar, Bar Celona and Villa Sorriso, Pop Champagne, Dullahan’s and the brand new Pasadena 3Hundred. In edition to the private parties we also have two separate awards shows. We feature the Writer’s dinner and the Black Tie Awards dinner show for film and video producers and both sell out every year. In Fact, in 2008 we used the Twin Palms restaurant, formerly owned by Kevin Costner, which seats 300 people and is arguably the largest dinning room in Pasadena. After booking that room we were forced to turn away nearly 200 people seeking tickets to the awards show because of space constraints.
With guest like Morgan Sheppard of the Star Trek fame, Kim Coates of Sons of Anarchy and major stars like Michael Madson, John Savage, Bill Duke and David Carradine, the AOF team wanted to be sure that the hotel providing lodging and guest services will be the premier hotel in the city. Festival director Josh Neufeld “I love the Sheraton and I know our guest will too. It’s a great hotel, with a great location and a great staff. What more could you ask?”
