Everything started in August 2005 when a 21-year-old British student had the idea of selling the pixels of his homepage (http://www.milliondollarhomepage.com) as advertising space. The concept was such a success that all pixels were sold in four months, making him a millionaire. This concept quickly spawned thousands of copycat sites, but most of them failed since they brought nothing new.
Two years later, The Advertising Cube (http://www.advertisingcube.com) reinvents the concept in 3D and is already considered as the ultimate evolution of the Million Dollar Homepage. Advertising space can be purchased in amount of 10x10 pixel squares on a classy 3D cube that can be rotated in real time. Not only is this an inexpensive way to promote a website (a 100-pixel block costs $100, for more than five years), but it is also the opportunity to get into 3D pixel advertising and to create with thousands of people what may be considered as a collaborative work of art.
