The 12th World XTL Summit: North America - The New Frontier for GTL
The 12th World XTL Summit, taking place 21-23 May at the Waldorf Hilton, London, will discuss North America as a new frontier for the XTL industry due to the recent surge in shale gas.
- (1888PressRelease) April 27, 2012 - This session will focus on how XTL can enhance domestic energy security, the main opportunities and how GTL can change the model of downstream business for gas companies.
The recent surge in shale gas resources in the USA has resulted in a revolutionary overhaul of the outlook for gas to liquids technology. With the emergence of cheaper feedstock, GTL economics in America are more favourable than ever before. Industry pioneers Sasol and Shell, are looking to develop GTL projects in North America, and Aubrey McClendon of Chesapeake commented that "commercial scale gas to liquids or GTL facilities will be in operation in the US by year end 2016".
