October 01, 2007 - Temperature & Process Instruments, Inc. introduces the New MicroRay Food Series of infrared ( IR ) thermometers. The MicroRay Food Series are the ideal tools to measure the temperature as required by the FDA ( Food and Drug Administration ) regulation and HACCP ( Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points ) guidelines.
The MicroRay Food Series of Infrared Thermometers are specifically designed to measures temperature using non-contact Infrared temperature technology in the Critical Control Points (CCP). The nine areas were identified as CCP to monitor food safety, as defined by HACCP guidelines: Food procurement, Food storage, Food packaging, Pre-preparation, Cooking, Food storage after cooking, Re-thermalizing, Food product distribution display and Food Serving. Using non-contact infrared temperature technology lessen the risk of contamination since you are not touching the object.
Features include Laser Sighting Standard, wide temperature range: -22°F to +572°F ( -30 to 300°C ), HACCP Danger Zone Alarms, Hi-Low Alarms MicroRay Food Visual only; FOOD+/FOOD++ Visual and Audible, IP54 hand washable enclosure.
The MicroRay FOOD+/FOOD++ in addition has the capabilities of storing up to 64 test points with date and time using the internal real time clock. Datalogging can be manual or automatic with settable sampling time. An optional PC Interface and Graphing Interface with a USB Cable is available for the MicroRay FOOD+ and is standard on the FOOD++ Service Kit. All three of the MicroRay Food models include a programmable 8 hours countdown timer to help monitor cooking, cooling, and holding times.
The MicroRay FOOD+/FOOD++ are equipped with a connector for contact measurement using a Pt1000 RTD Temperature Sensor. The available temperature probes include a Contact, Immersion, Penetration, and Ambient Air. One optional 2.5" compact probe can actually be stored inside the unit for easy access. Longer probes are available if needed and provided with a wire connection.
