April 07, 2008 - Temperature & Process Instruments Inc. introduces the NEW IRtec P500+ Mk2 portable documenting Infrared Thermometer. Designed to help production and quality control operators to spot problems before they reduce quality or cause production downtime. The innovative design of the new IRtec P500+ Mk2 documenting portable infrared thermometer is ideal to monitoring of operating temperatures of mechanical and electrical plants or production equipment without removing the equipment from service and to measure product surface temperatures during manufacturing.
The IRtec P500+ Mk2 has a Spectral response: 8 to 14μm and can measure temperature over the range -30 to 1000°C (-20°F to 1832°F). Choose between either the standard focus (SF) model which has a target spot size of 10mm @ 1 meter or the TF optics having a target spot size @ 10 mm @ 600 mm. The IRtec P500+ Mk2 is equipped with a dual laser pointer system which defines at different distances the true target dimension. This unique and innovative laser point system go over the limits of the old crossed laser pointer based system. TTS really guarantees the measuring of the true area diameter along all the optical path. Or with the TF optics a triple laser pointer can precisely locate both the center and the true dimension of the measuring area at different distances.
The comfortable, ergonomic design combined with the new rugged ABS case with protective rubber holster makes the IRtec P500+ Mk2 ideal for use in the field or in the plant. The large LCD display with automatic white lamp backlit offers better visibility in dark areas, just pull the trigger and with a 150 ms response time you will start to read temperature measurements. The IRtec P500+ Mk2 models can store up to 500 data points grouped by tag with real-time clock in its internal memory and can easily be download to your PC using the included IRLogMan 2007 datalogging software and the new USB/Serial communication interface, or with the optional external infrared printer print results directly. You can also download and store 50 presest common material emissivity values or the real-time temperature can be displayed together with the Maximum, Minimum, Difference and Average values.
