Teen Guardian Helps Parents Safeguard Teen Drivers Californian Based Company With Cutting-edge Products

Teen Guardian combines technology with common sense and is offering parents a suite of products and services that can effectively monitor and report back to parents on their teen’s driving habits, from miles driven, speed and even the location of the car during the event in question.

(1888PressRelease) February 03, 2007 - Los Angles, California. – January, 21, 2007 -- When you hand over the keys to your teen driver, do you worry about the safety and actions of your child? Many parents do - and with good reason. Teens need time behind the wheel to develop the maturity and decision-making skills needed to be safe on today's busy roads and highways.

Teen Guardian is seeking to help parents improve teen driving safety. Each year between 8,000 to 10,000 teens die in auto accidents, 300,000 serious injuries result from teen driving accidents, and motor vehicle crashes are the number one cause of death for young people age 15 to 20. Overall, teens cause four times more crashes than any other age group, in spite of driving fewer miles than any group except seniors.

Teen Guardian combines technology with common sense and is offering parents a suite of products and services that can effectively monitor and report back to parents on their teen’s driving habits, from miles driven, speed and even the location of the car during the event in question.

According to Mark Collens President of Teen Guardian, This System that has been in the commercial fleets for almost a decade can provides parents of teenage drivers with tools, services and technology to enhance the safety, security and protection of their young drivers – while giving parents real control over teen driving behavior. Parents can become 'virtual passengers' in the car with their teens to monitor and help them improve their driving performance. We're making them available to parents to help save young lives."

Teen Guardian /services include:

The Teen Data Logger: A small, pocket-sized device monitors your teen's driving via the Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) system orbiting the Earth. Receiving signals from twenty-four satellites, its internal computer accurately determines the vehicle's location, and records its location and speed once every second. The Vehicle Reporter is a simple addition to any car. The unit downloads all information stored in the unit each time the car returns home though a wireless connection to the family PC. Periodically, parents can view their teens driving history including street maps, speed, location and a host of text reports.

Having the device on board can be a powerful deterrent against speeding and other risky driving behavior. Parents no longer have to wonder where the vehicle has been or at what speed it has been driven. Their teen's full driving history is available with a click of the mouse.

The Vehicle Tracker: an exceptional hi-tech product, that monitors travel and driving behavior in real time. The Vehicle Tracker allows parents to:

Receive instant alerts by email when their children exceed speed limits Map the vehicle's location, speed and direction with nearly pinpoint accuracy from any web browser 24 x 7 Retrieve a map or an aerial photograph showing the car's current location, and Use the remote access features to lock/unlock doors, enable/disable the starter or start the engine from afar.

Before its public launch, US Fleet Guard the parent company and commercial fleet operation conducted survey of parents who called in for a unit of this type. . The survey revealed that 78 percent of parents put driving rules in place for their children. Over one-third of parents reported that they are eager to use this type of unit to protection and security of their children when they are behind the wheel if cost was not a factor. By making some basic changes in the hardware US Fleet Guard / Teen Guardian have been able to reduce manufacturing cost and offer a unit to parents that has the reliability of a commercial unit at half the cost.

The Teen Guardian is serious about supporting young people, their families and contributing to safer driving behavior. Before its launch, the company studied various non-profit organizations that focus on reducing traffic fatalities and found a host of product either over priced or ineffective in their use, after all what teenager is going to drive around in a car with a bumper sticker saying "How's my Driving".
