May 08, 2009 - Global online talent community, TalentTrove.com announced its winner for the Best Script Reading today. The contest was implemented to engage the site’s theatrical members and invite new ones.
Adam Mamawala, an Edison, NJ resident, won first prize for his impersonation of Heath Ledger’s character “The Joker” from The Dark Knight. TalentTrove supplied the contestants with 20 different scripts from which to choose. The contest asked for members to pick one script and act out the scene.
With an overwhelming amount of votes from a total of five finalists, Adam’s imitation of The Joker landed him in first place, giving him a cash prize. What made Adam’s performance so compelling was, his use of props and his memorization of the lines.
TalentTrove.com began offering contests on its Web site in April 2009 and new challenges are issued weekly. Only members of the free site are allowed to partake in the competitions. Money and prizes are awarded to the winner.
