April 22, 2006 - New York, NY, —Dazzling femcee and media maven Symantix has just landed a deal with Fat Face Records, a London-based record label. Sure to embody the wit, dynamism, and emotional depth that made Devil With the Blue Mic an underground classic, her currently untitled Fat Face debut will be released in the summer of 2006 into the US, UK and Asian markets.
Add this venture to the young starlet’s impressive list of accomplishments. Devil with the Blue Mic, which was released in April 2004, sold thousands of copies and solidified her presence in the hip-hop game. In addition, her music videos, including "Hope and Pray", which features M1 of the revolutionary-minded hip-hop duo Dead Prez, have been televised globally, appearing on Music Choice, MTV2 and a host of independent video networks throughout the US.
The CEO of Fat Face Records, Andrew DeMonte, first took notice of Symantix when she appeared on a reality documentary showcasing women in hip-hop, which aired in London. "When I first heard Symantix’s flow I knew she was a perfect match for Fat Face’s vision," says DeMonte. "And from what we’ve recorded, she’s proven me right."
Specializing in the international distribution of cutting-edge hip-hop, dance, and R&B music, Fat Face is also home to recording artist Huggy Bear of Starsky and Hutch fame. Symantix’s contract with Fat Face also includes global distribution for Blackout Entertainment, Symantix’s own entertainment and multimedia enterprise.
