September 24, 2008 - SAN DIEGO, CA – The Gifting Suite will open at 2pm and run through 5pm catering solely to the celebrities who will be attending the 29th Annual Salute to Women in Sports scheduled for the following day, Tuesday, October 14th, 2008, also to be held at The Waldorf Astoria.

During the Annual Salute to Women in Sports, some of the evening awards will be as follows: the Billie Jean King Contribution Award, presented to an individual who demonstrates a lasting commitment and dedication to the growth of sports, fitness or physical activity for women, The Wilma Rudolph Courage Award, presented to a female athlete who exhibits extraordinary courage in her performance, the ability to overcome adversity and who serves as an inspiration, and finally the Sportwoman of the year – one individual and one team sport athlete are honored for their outstanding performances.
