May 14, 2008 - Atlanta, Ga - Make plays for Africa, spearheaded by NY Giant's Osi Umenyiora, is dedicated to inspiring hope and providing economic resources to researchers in the quest to find a cure for HIV/AIDS and Alzheimer's disease. Bringing awareness and exposure in the platform of a charity weekend, Umenyiora encourages the City of Atlanta to make a difference May 16th - 18th 2008.
NIKE has joined on board and committed to giving thousands of dollars worth of product to the students of Carver H.S for the annual Senior Stop. "We want to do all we can for Osi's events. We are going over and above the product commitment we currently provide because we truly believe in the mission of Strike 4 a Cure." - stated Nike Representative. The Strike 4 a Cure Bowling tournament is creating strong buzz within the city as record labels are signing up left and right and creating healthy competition in the name of a good cause. And celebrities are lending their support as hosts and ambassadors for the charity weekend making sure that AIDS and ALZHEIMER research remains the focus of such a prominent series of events. The 2nd Annual "STRIKE 4 A CURE" Charity Bowling Weekend will be a memorable weekend where pro-Athletes, city officials, state officials, press and tastemakers of Georgia aim to strike out HIV/AIDS and Alzheimer's by bowling to raise funding for research, outreach and education and participating in a host of charity focused events. Umenyiora will team up with his teammates, philanthropic athletes and celebrity friends to co-host this series of special events.
