July 25, 2007 - Over 120,000 visits have been made to Kenneth Hemmerick's Suicide Prevention Help Web site (www.suicidepreventionhelp.com) that includes a directory of carefully selected suicide prevention resources from around the world. The directory was created in July 2006.
"People, from every region of the world, have used this valuable Web resource that covers mental health and suicide prevention information for individuals, family members and friends," Hemmerick says.
"It is important for people who are despairing and contemplating suicide to realize that they are not alone and that there are people who care. I have created this Web site because I know firsthand the devastating effect that suicide has on family, friends and colleagues," Hemmerick adds.
The directory includes resources relating to a wide range of demographics, including teens and young adults, people in the military, seniors, GLBT individuals and more. Browse to find guides on helping someone who is suicidal or to find crisis centers and organizations devoted to suicide prevention.
