January 16, 2008 - Catholic Matchmaker New Zealand has its first success story! “Cathie and David” have announced their engagement in the Christchurch Press last month, and plan an April Wedding!
Catholic Matchmaker opened its doors in New Zealand on 29 September 07 and since then has been a steadily growing website for Catholic singles to meet for friendships and relationships leading to marriage.
What made it different to other “dating sites” was that it had the endorsement and blessing of Archbishop John Dew for promotion in the Wellington diocese.

CMM NZ has managed to avoid the usual pitfalls of “Dating Sites” by making it a private site, allowing only paid members to communicate with and search for members.
Glen and Clare Omvig started the site, as they were an early Catholic Internet Romance success story. Now married 8 years and with 3 children, they are supporting others through the process of meeting their spouses online.
