March 24, 2007 - But this year’s Ostrich Festival made up for last year’s several times over.
Not a single attendee was soaked or muddied, and the sun shone down in all its glory.
When it comes to such a large outdoor event, the weather truly can create quite an obstacle. Though the organizers are always prepared for everything, most families returned home early in last year’s rainy event.
On the other hand, they stayed over time under the bright blue skies that sailed over this year’s event, with a comfortable 84º to 90º to keep everybody in a celebrating kind of mood.
Though the weather isn’t normally poor in early March, this weekend was absolutely idyllic. A sign that this year’s Ostrich Festival was meant to be a great one, and perhaps the Fates felt a bit of remorse after the sloppy, squishy result last year.
The Chandler Chamber of Commerce, sponsor of the event every year, couldn’t have been happier about the results. Though the actual official attendance numbers won’t be tabulated for a few weeks, they already know that it was a tremendous success. Clearly, the numbers were much higher than last years, but it is believed that they were higher than those of the year before, too!
The Chamber uses every year to learn just a little bit more about making the event more perfect every year. Naturally, because the event is planned far in advance, there is no way to control the weather, but attendees can be assured a great time rain or shine.
The Chandler Chamber of Commerce is known for its innovative projects that celebrate the community, such as its latest development, the online community mall at http://Chandler.ChamberCommunity.com.
