September 14, 2007 - Procurement is in the midst of a major transformation, with globalisation and inflationary pressures adding to the pivotal role it plays in an organisation’s strategic business plan, in a region which now relies heavily on commerce, beyond oil, as a source of revenue.
Forum Chairman, Peter Garnett explains that ‘procurement is such an integral function in the organisation, that it is now being assessed at the board level’. Garnett, who has based his views on the behaviour of 750 procurement and supply chain personnel in 47 countries, encourages organisations to nurture from within and deploy with confidence.
