The String-Ring™ is a ring designed to be threaded with a piece of colored string, in order to remind us of the importance of kindness. It is not only a piece of jewelry but also a tool to be used to raise social awareness by showing compassion and resolving problems with peaceful solutions. This is a one-of-a-kind product with the intention of easing social pressures and bullying, which are on the rise in our schools according to news programming.
Mission: To promote kindness through everyday relationships.
Mission Statement: Remember kindness.
The String-Ring™ is to be worn on the index finger of the left hand, that being the one that
influences memory, according to the belief of the ancient Anglo-Saxons, who thought tying a string around your finger would keep an idea from escaping. Hence, reminding you of something by
literally tying the idea to yourself. The String-Ring™ is to be worn threaded with a particular
piece of colored string, chosen by the customer, to communicate a particular act of kindness he/she
wishes to be reminded of, and wishes to remind others of, as well. The ring is a cue to yourself,
and others who notice it, to be kind to one another, by saying, acting or even thinking something kind. Each color of string represents one of ten different kindness reminders.
The target market is teenagers and children. Affordably priced, the String-Ring™ can be purchased by kids for friends as birthday presents, Christmas presents, or gifts for any occasion. The ring is worn as inspirational jewelry in the same way the Lance Armstrong “Live Strong” bracelets or “What Would Jesus Do?” bracelets are worn. The market will be expanded to an adult, upscale version and specialized for specific groups and organizations such as schools, environmental groups, churches, sport teams, and to anyone interested in sending a subtle message of kindness in an all too often loud, competitive, egocentric environment. |
