Sting 6: Home Grown - An Evening of Art, Music and Performance at Boston’s Beehive

The Beehive's Sixth Installment in their Continuing Art Series.


Boston, MA-NH (1888PressRelease) October 08, 2009 - On Wednesday, October 14, 2009 from 6:30PM to 8:30PM The Beehive’s co-owner and resident curator Jennifer Epstein will host the 6th installment in The Beehive's continuing art series entitled, Sting! 6: Home Grown.

The ongoing event always signifies the launch of a new art installation at The Beehive and highlight’s an evening of great entertainment, great food & libations along with amazing art.

Sting! 6 Home Grown is a very special show as it comes from within. We will highlight the work of some of our extremely talented Beehive staff members (including graduates of the Massachusetts College of Art & Design, the Museum School of the Museum of Fine Arts and Berklee College of Music) as well as distinctive Beehive friends and family who helped build our business, including the artists whose work went into the finishes of our space and additionally the work of one of our investors and one of our co-owners...thus the name Home Grown!

The night will also feature the soulful sounds of Sharon Jones, interludes of spoken word by Beehive staffer April Ranger, just back from the Individual World Poetry Slam in Berkeley, CA and some other unexpected creative exploits. Later in the evening, Bob Guilotti will lead an impressive avant-garde jazz quartet into the night. Don't miss Sting! 6 Home Grown!

The Beehive will have great food and music all evening long starting with the soulful sounds of Sharon Jones from 6:30PM – 8:30PM, then stay on for the Bob Guilotti Project. Bob Guilotti is jazz nobility and leads an impressive avant-garde jazz quartet into the night. Come celebrate truly local art at this not-to-be-missed evening of art, food and music!

The Beehive Sting! Series:
The Beehive Sting! Series is an on-going art series that presents the diversity of art now. The goal is to find work of the moment that is engaging, challenging and exciting, providing viewers with a broad exposure to contemporary art and providing artists a chance to get outside of the white box. Unlike a gallery or museum, The Beehive is not limited by the confines of an aesthetic agenda and can select a variety of innovative work.

About The Beehive:
The Beehive is an underground Bohemian bistro featuring amazing cuisine, libations, artwork and live music nightly. Nestled below the Boston Center for the Art’s historic Cyclorama in Boston’s South End, The Beehive serves the eclectic fare of Chef Rebecca Newell, rustic comfort foods infused with American, European, Mediterranean, and Middle Eastern influences.
