Steljes Cardiology Receives Nuclear Cardiology and Echocardiography Accreditations
Steljes Cardiology, a full-service cardiology practice, diagnostic sleep center and clinical research center, has earned accreditation in echocardiography and nuclear cardiology.
- (1888PressRelease) April 26, 2012 - HENDERSON, Nev. - The Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) recently announced that Steljes Cardiology, a full-service cardiology practice, diagnostic sleep center and clinical research center, has earned accreditation in echocardiography and nuclear cardiology.
Echocardiography refers to the process of taking a sonogram of the heart. It is routinely used in the diagnosis, management and follow-up of patients with any suspected or known heart diseases and is one of the most widely used diagnostic tests in cardiology.
Nuclear medicine is a medical specialty involving the application of radioactive substances in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. The skill of the technologist performing the examination, the type of equipment used, the background and knowledge of the interpreting physician and quality assurance measures are each critical to the delivery of quality nuclear medicine.
IAC accreditation is a "seal of approval" that patients can rely on as an indication that the facility has been carefully critiqued on all aspects of its operations considered relevant by a panel medical experts in the fields of echocardiography and nuclear cardiology.
