November 28, 2007 - Star, the morning deejay who was not only fired from his last gig, but arrested, may be returning to New York radio early next year on a new top-40 station.
A press conference has been scheduled for tomorrow morning to confirm his hiring, and while the announcement doesn't specify details, the station reportedly is WNYZ, which broadcasts on 87.7 FM on Long Island.
WNYZ is licensed as a low-power television station (Ch. 6), but it is currently only broadcasting audio, not video, on the 87.7 FM frequency.
Its current format is Russian popular music, but with the hiring of Star, it will reportedly switch to top-40.
