  • (1888PressRelease) December 08, 2012 - The Continental Group (TCG), a FirstService Residential Management company, along with employees of its St. Petersburg office are partnering with local charities, Metropolitan Ministries and Isaiah's Inn to ensure that underprivileged people enjoy the holiday season.
The St. Petersburg regional office has set a goal of donating and delivering between 400 to 700 pounds of food to the homeless through Metropolitan Ministries, and TCG's staff expects this initiative to make a strong impact. Metropolitan Ministries helps people who are struggling with illness, loss of work or homelessness with food, clothing, shelter and skills training.

Additionally, they will also sponsor several families from Isaiah's Inn "Adopt-a-Family" program. Employees receive a wish list from each family and then purchase the requested gifts, along with wrapping paper, tape and bows to assure that parents do not miss out on the joy of wrapping their children's gifts. Each parent also receives a gift for him or herself

Each charitable holiday effort is part of Continental Cares, TCG's year-round corporate philanthropic outreach program dedicated to enhancing the lives of the neighbors and residents of the communities it serves. The primary focus of Continental Cares is to reach out to nonprofit organizations and entities that meet the Continental Cares mission.

"TCG's employees are extremely enthusiastic and generous when it comes to donating to each of these charities. We look forward to helping out each year," said Mark Stoops, TCG Regional President, North Florida. "It is a pleasure for us to participate in these great food and gift drive donations and we request that the local St. Petersburg community joins us and gets involved."
