St. Mary Magdalene Sets Family Fun Festival

St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Community of Waupaca will hold its sixth annual Family Fun Festival, scheduled for July 17-19 on the parish grounds.

Appleton, WI (1888PressRelease) June 17, 2009 - “St. Mary’s Family Fun Festival is three days of fun, food and excitement for people of all ages,” said festival chairperson Vicky Giacalone. “From a pig roast to cash raffles, from polka to Zydeco, from a dunk tank to mini golf, the event has something for people of all ages. It’s a great way to spend a summer weekend.”

The festival begins Friday, July 17, with an art show from 5-7 p.m., followed by a concert by the Voices of St. Mary Magdalene at 7 p.m. From 6-8:30 p.m. a Christian artist for teens offers entertainment for younger attendees.

A classic car show is the opening event for Saturday, July 18, running from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Norm Dombrowski and the Happy Notes will play from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. The Stevens Point-based polka-style band has been entertaining crowds in Central Wisconsin for more than 40 years. A pig roast is scheduled for 11 a.m.

Justmann Band takes the stage from 11 a.m.-3 p.m on Sunday, July 19. The Waupaca-based band plays a variety of music, from old-time waltzes and polkas to modern rock, swing and classic country.

Acclaimed Oshkosh band Copper Box closes the musical offerings with its unique blend of rock, polka, blues and Zydeco. With four albums and a host of nationwide appearances to its credit, Copper Box will entertain the crowd from 3:30-7:30 p.m.
The festival will also feature food, a lemonade bar, corn roast, raffles, cherry tree game, dunk tank, 50/50 drawing and mini golf. Kids games are free all three days.

A silent auction featuring crafts, getaways, themed gift baskets and more will take place Sunday, with bidding ending at 3 p.m.
