  • San Diego, CA (1888PressRelease) February 14, 2012 - St. Madeleine Sophie's Center (SMSC) welcomed two new members to its corporate team this month. Marcy Shugert and Keith Miller have been selected as board members for St. Madeleine Sophie's Center, effective January 25, 2012.

    St. Madeleine Sophie's Center is a non-denominational day training center for adults with developmental disabilities. The Center has been serving adults in San Diego County for more than 40 years.

    "We've developed a wonderful team of experienced professionals with strong backgrounds," said Debra Turner-Emerson, Executive Director of SMSC. "I am confident that Marcy and Keith will add value to our overall goals to further strengthen St. Madeleine's."

    Shugert has 13 years of marketing management experience and is the founder of Brain Potential, a company that educates the public about strokes in youth. Most recently, Shugert worked at The Walt Disney Company as the Global Brand Marketing Manager for Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, New Releases. Shugert is a graduate of the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. She is also a committee member for the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association and is a member of Toastmasters.

    Miller has 27 years of automotive supply experience and has worked with manufacturers with direct supply to General Motors. Miller has been a Mobility Consultant at Ability Center for the past four years. In 2011, he was voted Volunteer of the Year for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. He is a graduate of John Carroll University in Cleveland, OH and has completed multiple OEM supplier trainings.
