St. Conti Communications Wins Communicator Award of Excellence

…and agency president honored with Women in Business Nomination.

(1888PressRelease) September 01, 2009 - Morgan Hill and Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif. – August 31, 2009 – St. Conti Communications today announces that it was honored with the Award of Excellence from the 15th Annual Communicator Awards Print Competition announced earlier this year. Also, on May 21, its president, Donna St. Jean Conti, was honored as a nominee for the Orange County Business Journal’s prestigious Women in Business Award for her business achievements and community service.

The Communicator Awards are judged and overseen by the International Academy of the Visual Arts (IAVA), a 450+ member organization of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media. Current IAVA membership represents a "Who's Who" of acclaimed media, advertising and marketing firms including: Condè Nast, Coach, Disney, The Ellen Degeneres Show, Estee Lauder, HBO, Keller Crescent, Monster.com, MTV, Polo Ralph Lauren, Sotheby’s Institute of Art, Tribal DDB, Victoria’s Secret, Wired, Yahoo! and many others. See www.iavisarts.org for more information.

Linda Day, director of the IAVA, was quoted in the IAVA news release as saying, “The quality, creativity and execution of this year’s work is a true testament to the talents and abilities of communications professionals from around the world. The entries received reflect an increasingly diversified industry and the work once again sets the bar extremely high. On behalf of the entire Academy, we are honored to have judged the 15th Annual Communicator Awards and we are proud to honor the outstanding communications professionals who continue to push a high standard of excellence.”

St. Conti Communications won the Print Publicity – Newspaper Placement Award of Excellence for its work on behalf of The Irvine Ranch Outdoor Education Center with the placement of its Seeds to Sprouts column in the Home & Garden section of the Orange County Register. The Seeds to Sprouts column, which was written by Christine Kirk, program director for The Irvine Ranch Outdoor Education Center, focused on teaching parents how to get their kids interested in organic gardening by providing how-to instructions, recipes and fun ideas. It ran from May 2008 through January 2009.

“We are proud of our media relations efforts and resulting placements on behalf of The Irvine Ranch Outdoor Education Center and especially pleased that Christine Kirk’s Seeds to Sprouts column received the recognition it deserves,” says St. Jean Conti. “It is a joy to represent such a worthy project.”

St. Jean Conti’s Women in Business nomination was in recognition of her business leadership and for her support of breast cancer related and environmental causes, especially her efforts to aide non-profit, It’s Your Environment (www.ItsYourEnvironment.org), in its involvement with a 2009 Earth Day event at Bathgate Elementary School in Mission Viejo, Calif. It’s Your Environment signed five new classrooms to participate in its online environmental activism and projects Web site as a direct result of the Earth Day event. St. Jean Conti’s national contributions included working as contributing editor for Breast Cancer Wellness Magazine and volunteering as co-host of the Inspire! Blog-Talk radio program to provide hope, help and answers to breast cancer patients. She continues her own blog, www.Communicator.StContiCommunications.com to share her views and insights on public relations, breast cancer awareness advocacy and wellness.
