June 23, 2008 - SprayMax Industrial Coatings Offers New White Aliphatic Bedliner Material
(Jacksonville) SprayMax Industrial Coatings announced today the introduction of “BoatWhite” Aliphatic Polyurea to the SprayMaxliners, Spray Bedliners materials and equipment, arsenal of materials.
“SprayMax has been an industry leader for years in Instant Cure, easy to apply Polyurea for Bedliners. As customer demand got greater SprayMax expanded into a few colors for Garage Floor applications that got little UV rays. This was very popular as Polyurea is known for secondary containment. This was simply like putting a Spray Bed Liner on your Garage Floor.
SprayMax felt it needed to bring an aliphatic polyurea made from regrowable energy such as Castor Oil to our growing line of Manufactured Pre Filled Cartridges. Spray Bed liners are primarily black but more and more of our nationwide applicators have expanded into more than just spray bedliner applications.
Applying an instant Cure Polyurea to Boats seems very natural due to Salt Water Resistance and beauty. Boat Owners like many do not want their boats tied up for a long period of time. Unlike Garage Floors the boats are under constant UV rays so the Aliphatic BoatWhite seemed the natural pick to keep a high gloss, high build protective membrane. Other Aliphatic Polyurea colors may be available in the future.” Tom Hay COO of SprayMax Industrial Coatings was quoted as saying.
The key to the application of this Spray in place Bedliner system is the SprayMax FastKick combination spray gun/proportioner. This unique small piece of equipment is very user friendly -- no electricity or heat is required, only an air compressor capable of 10CFM at 100PSI.
The back of the Fast Kick is a small air motor. When the trigger is pulled, the air motor moves forward, pushing two rods attached to the one air motor, so equal volume and pressure is always kept 100 percent constant. The rods push through both the 'A' and 'B' ports and pushes the material through a static mixing tube to mix into one chemical," Hay says. "At the end of the static mixing tube is an air atomizer that compresses the material as it leaves the static mixer into a controlled pattern. When the material hits the wall or substrate, it instantly starts to set making a high build membrane vapor barrier seal. The person spraying can apply any thickness desired for their own maximum benefit. When the cartridge is empty, the sprayer simply pushes a button in the back, pulls the trigger, and the air motor and rods retract back to the original position. At this time, another cartridge is installed for spray, or the applicator simply hangs up the Fast Kick. There is no clean up, as no material actually goes through the Fast Kick Gun.
