Governor Kaine’s career of public service began when he took a year off from law school to volunteer with missionaries in Honduras. There, he served as the principal of a small Catholic school that taught teenagers basic carpentry and welding skills.
For 17 years Governor Kaine practiced law in Richmond, Governor Kaine has been representing people who were denied housing opportunities due to race or disability. Governor Kaine has won many precedent-setting cases in this area and was recognized by local, state and national organizations for his fair-housing advocacy. Governor Kaine also taught legal ethics for six years at the University Of Richmond Law School.
In 2001 Governor Kaine was elected Virginia’s Lieutenant Governor. He worked for four years with Governor Mark Warner to reform the state’s budget and invest new resources in education. These reforms led Governing Magazine to recognize Virginia in 2005 as the Best Managed State in America.
Governor Kaine has been elected to become Chairman of the Southern Governors Association in the summer of 2008. Governor Kaine is doing GREAT things for Virginia residents.

Spinning For Life was birthed on 2 November 2007 to heighten the awareness of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. The founder was diagnosed in 2001 while serving on active duty as a Sergeant while stationed at Ft. Stewart Ga. Spinning For Life has grown and looking to expand its services worldwide.
