"Here's to Tacoma and here's to business!" as the corked popped off at Tacoma's lavish and ever-famous Stanley and Seaforts restaurant.
The group was compiled of web developers, financial advisors, and merchant service providers, some who office out of the William Factory Small Business Incubator, nearby. "Tacoma is the new Seattle," one attendee pronounced.
Small business has taken Tacoma by storm. Tacoma Storm. While Seattle has become an "entrepreneur's graveyard", Tacoma has taken the state by surprise as the "entreprenuer's haven".
"Everywhere I turn, a friend is asking for tax planning on for their small business in Tacoma," Gayle McArthur, Executive Director, Western Region Marketing. "It never used to be that way, ten years ago, they were asking me how to move to Seattle. Now they're wanting to come back."
Museums, universities, and lower cost is an obvious attribute, but some say they are tired of Seattle's "Posh" Life. They are looking for a city with more character, one with its roots in the blue collar lifestyle.
Don't let the term "blue collar" catch you by surprise - Tacoma is home to an international award winning "Small Business Incubator",a non-profit facility which assists businesses to grow.
