July 01, 2009 - The Spectrum Community School class of 1977 is holding it first reunion in over a decade. Last time this, the first graduating class of the school met, was in June of 1997.
Originally conceived as an open spaced learning facility, Spectrum Community School was at the forefront of North America’s educational re-envisioning. In 1977 the brand new facility and educational concept encompassed all that was new in Secondary education at the time. Included in this concept was the “No wall, No Boundaries” philosophy and a “Self Assessment, Self Grading” concept.
The students that graduated in 1977 were at the vanguard of what was then the new education frontier. Now for the first time in nearly 15 years the original graduating class of 1977 is holding its reunion.
July 2-4th 2010 marks the date for the upcoming reunion. The event will be held at both Spectrum School and throughout the Greater Victoria Region.
