Speaking of Women’s Health honored Dr. Susan Weaver with the It’s the Right Time award at the Speaking of Women’s Health two-day conference on Friday, Sept. 14 and Saturday, Sept. 15 at the North Raleigh Hilton.


Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease) September 25, 2007 - Speaking of Women’s Health honored Dr. Susan Weaver with the It’s the Right Time award at the Speaking of Women’s Health two-day conference on Friday, Sept. 14 and Saturday, Sept. 15 at the North Raleigh Hilton. Dr. Weaver was recognized for her integral involvement as executive director of Alliance Medical Ministries, partner of CapitalCare Collaborative, and director of community access at WakeMed Health and Hospitals.

After her sister died of cancer, Dr. Weaver dedicated herself to assisting the more than 20 percent of Wake County residents that have no health insurance. As founder of Alliance Medical Ministry, a clinic dedicated to providing a primary care facility for working families, she helps over 5,000 patients received primary healthcare for affordable co-pays. In partnership with Alliance Medical Ministry, Weaver has become a key partner in the success of CapitalCare Collaborative, an outreach program that streamlines health resources and ensures efficiency by networking the eight safety net healthcare providers in Wake County. Its latest initiative is an online system that will provide an electronic link to agencies and health service coordinators to determine if patients qualify for state, federal or local reimbursable programs such as Medicaid.
