Southeastern Specialty Vehicles (SSV), established in 1996 in Benson, produces ambulance remounts, rescue vehicles and specialty vehicles.. Now located in Youngsville, the company is a fully operational manufacturing plant and emergency vehicle repair center, and also produces Mass Casualty and WMD Trailers for the Homeland Security Department. SSV is a Ford QVM certified ambulance remount facility, as well as a member of the National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA), the National Fire Protection Agency and the Ambulance Manufacturer's Division (AMD). SSV is also a Hackney dealer covering the areas of Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Eastern Tennessee.
Custom-built fire truck, "Debbie" will tour the US as part of the "Pink Heals Tour" to raise Breast Cancer awareness. Southeastern Specialty Vehicles donated parts and time to prepare the vehicle for the tour.
