Since 1974, South Coast Surfshop has emerged as one of Southern California's premier surfshops. The shop is located in Ocean Beach California, a half a block from the famous Ocean Beach Pier. Historically, South Coast Surfshop has always been ahead of its time. Over the last 26 years, South Coast not only emphasized custom surfboards, a huge wetsuit selection, and the latest in surf accessories to meet your in the water needs, but it was willing to experiment with selling surf inspired clothing and accessories. South Coast Surfshop was instrumental in introducing and legitimizing brands such as Quiksilver, Billabong, and Gotcha to the Southern Californian Surf Community during the seventies and early eighties. And even today though surf influenced products are much more mainstream then they were when South Coast first opened, you can be sure to find the finest selection of all your favorite brands as well as new looks from brands that are new to the surf industry.

South Coast Surf Shops Support 15th Annual Mezzadri Surf Contest

The 15th annual Tony Mezzadri Surf Classic will be held Saturday morning, September 27 2008, at the foot of Ocean Beach pier at 7:00am. The contest offers a variety of heats for all ages, BBQ lunch, live music and an opportunity drawing with prizes. South Coast Surf Shops will be celebrating its 15th year supporting the fundraising contest, with all proceeds going directly to spinal cord research.

South Coast Surf Shops has teamed up with SurfShot Media in a fund-raiser for SurfAid International. The fundraiser will be held at Bareback Grill, in the heart of downtown San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter on Thursday, September 4. The fund-raising party has been timed in conjunction with ASR, the surf industry's biggest convention of the year, held at San Diego's Convention Center September 4-6.
