November 12, 2007 - EMR allows the medical staff at South Shore Skin Center’s Plymouth and Cohasset offices easier access to patient data, 24 hours a day, seven days a week which is essential for patient history/case research and during a patient emergency. EMR enables faster transmission of patient data to a patient’s primary care physician or specialist. Electronic prescriptions may be sent to a patient’s pharmacy right from the office so they may be ready for the patient to pick-up after their medical appointment.
“With EMR, each patient’s file is at our fingertips. We’re able to send prescriptions to the patient’s pharmacist during the patient’s appointment. If a patient needs surgery, we’re able to quickly transfer patient data to the surgeon’s office.
