New Voting Formula At IMF Falls Short Of Bringing Genuine Change |
| The limited redistribution of voting power among its member countries agreed by the IMF last week fall short of the broader reforms needed to correct the governance imbalance in the IMF, according to Dr. Yash Tandon, Executive Director of the South Centre, an intergovernmental organization of the developing countries based in Geneva, Switzerland. Last week, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) cautiously backed plans for some redistribution of voting power among its 185 member countries. |
