June 07, 2007 - Punk rock legends ‘The Misfits’ release their rock inspired Signature Series shirt at Soliscompany.com. In addition to this foray into he fashion industry with this online retail pioneer, the Misfits is working on a new album and preparing for a performance at the Desensitised Festival in the United Kingdom. Singer/songwriter Glenn Danzig and bassist Jerry Only formed the Misfits in 1977. The band went through many lineup changes in its 6 year history yet has in the end become iconic to fans of Punk Rock and, more specifically, Horror Punk, a musical genre that the Misfits had defined, blending punk rock music and horror movie themes and imagery into their acts. Four albums and five EPs were recorded during the time of the ‘Original Misfits,’ between 1978 – 83, including ‘Walk Among Us, ‘ considered the band’s quintessential sound.
The band reunited in 1995 with Jerry Only as the new lead and vocalist. In 2000, he recruited Dez Cadena of Black Flag and Marky Ramone of The Ramones to undertake ‘M25,’ the Misfits 25th Anniversary Tour. Currently, the Misfits are scheduled perform at the Desensitised Festival at Crabtree Park in Camberley England on September 8, 2007. Tickets are available at the festival’s Myspace.com page under ‘desensitisedfestival.’ This performance will kick off the bands’ 30-year anniversary tour, making appearances throughout the UK. A new album is in the works that is due to release either late 2007 or 2008. Dez Cadena is expected to appear on guitar while former member ROBO is playing drums. According to the band, the music is intended to be “the hardest, most aggressive Misfits material since Earth A.D.” in 1983.
