December 22, 2007 - Christmas came early for the 150 children of San Jose de Malambo Orphanage last night when Six Diamond Resort International’s Frank and Kimberly DeLape and Richard Kiibler opened their hearts to host “Santa’s Christmas Wish Night”. Each child received multiple gifts, got to spend quality time with Santa (Frank Delape) and enjoyed pizza, cake, games and face-painting. “Every child needs to have their dreams fulfilled, even if it is only for one night a year”, articulates Frank DeLape, “It is important for us as a society to let people know, particularly on a special day like Christmas, that no matter who you are, someone in the world cares about you”.
The gifts were only a small part of what made the evening special, “something as simple as a subtle gesture or in this case, spending time with children as Santa can make a difference”, says Frank. Richard Kiibler, Six Diamond’s VP of operations, played a large role in putting the event together, “It’s extraordinary to be able to contribute in this way, and give back to those who need it the most” he explains, “for many of the children, these may be the only gifts they receive; its amazing to watch how much they enjoy the big event and the special attention.” The event proved to be extremely moving for all of those involved; truly illustrating the old adage that it is better to give than to receive, “We feel blessed to be able to participate in this affair”, the DeLapes declare.
