  • Miami, FL (1888PressRelease) February 03, 2009 - SIP Print™ (www.sipprint.com) creators of the first and only truly affordable SIP-based VoIP call recording platform, today announced the availability of its award-winning voice recording appliances for the UK financial services market. SIP Print’s systems are fully compliant with the new call recording mandate set forth by the Financial Services Authority (FSA), including a future requirement to record calls originating from mobile phones. This marks the preliminary entry into the UK market for SIP Print.

According to the FSA policy statement, effective March 6, 2009, all UK financial institutions must record and archive all telephone conversations and electronic communications relating to client transactions for a period of no less than six months. The new regulations apply to any UK firms participating in the equity, bond and derivatives markets. The FSA has applied an 18-month exemption for the recording of voice conversations from mobile phones and other handheld devices.

“The need to record calls continues to increase, driven both by internal quality assurance programs and by regulatory compliance requirements,” said Don Palmer, CEO, SIP Print. “In the United States, the Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act (CALEA) and Sarbanes-Oxley legislation have dictated the recording of certain phone calls by some businesses, and many other firms choose to record calls for internal compliance purposes or for training and customer services needs. The new FSA regulations for the UK financial services community are yet another example of the trend towards increased regulatory oversight and improved corporate security and protection.”

As organizations worldwide accelerate their acceptance and adoption of IP-based communications systems, SIP Print has emerged as a leading provider of affordable on-premise systems to record and store calls on these Voice-over-IP (VoIP) systems. SIP Print’s award-winning voice recording systems are compatible with mainstream VoIP phone systems and hybrid systems including Allworx, Aastralink, Altigen, Avaya IP Office, Avaya Distributed Office, Cisco, Epygi, Fonality, Grandstream, Mitel, NEC 8100, NEC 8300, Nortel, ShoreTel, Toshiba, Zultys and 3Com.

SIP Print’s feature rich appliances offer: a web-based GUI, call playback on regular media players, extension and name lookup, caller ID, search by area code and prefix, fast forward, rewind, time and date stamping, archive control, audit trail, remote access, and email-ready call file formats. While the FSA regulations provide a temporary exemption for recording mobile phone conversations, SIP Print’s patent-pending platform seamlessly supports the recording of mobile phone calls today, along with advanced functions such as voicemail or “follow-me” calls on mobile phones or other off-premise phone numbers.
