November 12, 2007 - SINGEX Group General Manager Mr Matthew Meredith, is appointed as Managing Director of Qatar MICE Development Institute (QMDI) with immediate effect. We congratulate Mr Meredith on his promotion to the leadership of our SINGEX associate company in Qatar. The organization records its heartfelt appreciation to Mr Meredith for his many contributions and leadership to SINGEX in Singapore, and looks forward to continue working closely with him in QMDI.
Mr Keith Oliver, currently Chief Financial Officer, will take over the responsibilities of Mr Meredith, as the new General Manager of SINGEX. Mr Oliver brings with him many years of experience in financial planning, strategy and management of MNCs and global organizations.
In his career, Mr Oliver has accumulated a wealth of management experience including CFO roles within several large companies where he was responsible for the finance function regionally or globally including CDC Corporation, Dentsu Young & Rubicam Asia, and Philip Morris Asia. His General Management experience includes Area Director for Kraft Foods Asia Pacific responsible for the markets of Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, India and Sri Lanka.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University of Melbourne. He is married with 2 children.
Said Mr Keith Oliver, “I look forward to the exciting and challenging role as General Manager. My goals include shaping Singapore Expo into a dynamic and thriving hub for shows from all industries globally and regionally. We have a strong team here at SINGEX with many years of experience behind them. I’m very impressed with our dedicated team who go about their jobs with so much passion. This industry is a lot about relationships and trust forged over time helping businesses reach their goals through the MICE platform. I hope to continue to learn from all our multi-industry partners and businesses as we walk this road together.”
Mr Meredith added, “Singex Global has a partnership with a ground level industry in Qatar. We want to focus on new business opportunities in the MICE sector in Qatar. Our partners in Qatar’s QMDI have requested that I lead and help develop the MICE infrastructure there. The Qatar Government has ambitious plans to develop this sector. The scale of these projects necessitates that I focus on the role full time in Qatar. I have enjoyed my time in Singapore helping refocus our various businesses. I am hopeful that the new development plans for Singapore Expo and a license fee will shortly be announced.”
