Two tools, the StandUpStix and the HoldUpHinge, are a cost effective solution that reduce prepping time and increase painting productivity. StandUpStix’s interlocking "sticks" fit into the bore of the door's hardware, locking together to hold up to three doors. "For a painting project consisting of 24-36 doors, a typical painting crew of 4 painters spends 8 hours prepping and painting the doors. With these products, 2 painters can prep and paint the same doors in 2 hours," states Tom Allen, inventor.
The 2-piece HoldUpHinge, comprised of 4" flat panels, are attached to the door's hinge recess, and then interlocking joints connect to hold 2-3 doors. The tool has reinforced 'bridging', making it strong enough to hold commercial doors, heavy custom or glass doors, or doors without standard bored hardware. StandUpStix and HoldUpHinge tools can be used together to create a long chain of connected doors."The tools are so simple, it’s scary!" said Tom Terranova of Tom's General Painting. The National Hardware Show attracts 30,000 people, 3,000 of those are National and Independent hardware and consumer product retailers.
