December 12, 2007 - The subject of epilepsy is brought to light in the novel Introducing..., written by Neebeeshaabookway. This Xlibris book details a fictional family saga centered on the relationship of twin siblings, Jake and Jade Smith, and how they overcome a traumatic incident that leads to Jake having epileptic seizures.
Introducing… takes readers on an emotional journey into the lives of Jake and Jade, who are ex-rodeo folk, as they experience a life-changing trauma beginning with Jake’s rescue of one of his best friends from a backyard bull-ride gone wrong. The incident leaves Jake with a damaged mouth, partly mute, unable to read or write, and facing a series of grand mal seizures. Beyond the physical injuries, lies a more painful desolation – the scars and ravages within his heart. But, encouraged by his twin sister’s love, Jake learns to pick himself up and start his life again.
Derived from a short story collection entitled Steppingstones Through Jake’s Ranch, Introducing… is a combination of four short stories that give insight into situations that the Smith Ranch Gang has come through as they journey through their lives.

About the Author
Neebeeshaabookway, was born Lizzy Gonzales in Garfield Heights, Ohio and grew up in San Jose, California. Her first unpublished novel, I’m Thinkin’, placed in one of the semi-finals of William Faulkner Creative Writing Competitions – her first contest. Introductions is her first published book, and it is a lead-up for the inspirational family saga of The Jake Smith Ranch Series. Lizzy now lives in Michigan with her three cats.
