November 07, 2009 - “Showcase Your Talent” is being held at the Abraham Moss Theatre on the 28th November and is being run by yogift.com. Auditions are being held on the 21st November at the Abraham Moss Theatre and interested parties should go to the yogift.com website to apply. 15 contestants will make it from the auditions through to the final.
One of the 15 finalists will receive a Ł15,000 prize as the ‘overall winner’ of the contest, and there is also a Ł10,000 prize for the best Michael Jackson Tribute, or other themed act. Professional recording and editing companies will also be present at the event which promises to showcase the brightest talents, and shine a light on gifted groups and individuals within the Greater Manchester area. The public will decide the winner by voting for their favourite act on yogift.com.
The contest is open to anybody over the age of 16, and will have 6 categories:
Dance Groups
Michael Jackson Tribute
Solo Dancers
Singers
Musicians
Other Talents
Contestants will be judged at the auditions by a panel of 5 experts, all of whom have extensive industry experience and will be able to offer encouragement, advice and inspiration to participants.
Following the “Showcase Your Talent” auditions and final on the 28th November, videos of the contestants performing will be uploaded onto yogift.com and the public can decide the winner by voting for their favourite act using yogift.com’s online voting system. The winners of the overall prize and the Tribute prize will be announced on the 11th January 2010.
Yogift.com are a Manchester based organisation who aim to promote positivity, co-operation and communication within communities, and to bring talented individuals together. Their philosophy is not based around promoting ‘fame’, but around developing positive relationships and a powerful community spirit. The contest will encourage participants to meet other performers and to develop their confidence and their network of friends in a fun and unthreatening environment.

The yogift.com website launches on 28th November.
