July 08, 2007 - Norfolk based model Shelley Perfect has hit Newspaper headlines with her controversial outburst against size limitations in the fashion industry. At 5ft 9ins and 28-inch waist the glamorous 22 year old blonde has voiced her concerns about the negative influence strict requirements are having on the youth of today.
Miss Perfect has stormed into the scene when the current debate over the celebrity size zero trend is under the microscope so a mixed reaction was inevitable. The attractive mother-of-two who is a size 10 on top and a size 12 on her bottom half had her first taste of modelling at a young age and modelling has been something she always wanted to do.
Shelley is organising a protest walk in Norwich where women who are size 10 and above will take to the streets in bikinis and revealing clothing. During the walk on July 7, it will be interesting to see public reaction to her petition and her quest to push curvy women into the forefront of fashion. The walk being organised by Ms Perfect will meet in the Castle Mall shopping centre under the staircase near Boots at 11am and will finish at about 3pm.
Norfolk promotional outfit Amber Models UK have moved in to back Shelley with a debut photographic shoot and an appearance on the catwalk within a week of snapping her up. Andreas Yiasimi of Amber Models decided to take on Shelley after reading her story in the Eastern Daily Press. He said "I knew I wanted to work with Shelley as soon as I saw her photographs in the paper. Her views about the size zero debate are strongly shared with the general public and many industry people I work with.
Shelley is airing her concerns and what she believes in, there's nothing wrong with that. I respectfully understand fashion requirements but there is room in this game for beautiful models like Shelley. I Have already been questioned why I have decided to give Shelley a chance by fellow agencies, I don't have time explain the obvious to sceptics, they should respect my decision as I respect theirs, it's simply to provide a niche for someone I feel has tremendous potential. I would much rather spend my time promoting Shelley"
Shelley's bubbly personality and striking looks are landing her a string of Radio and TV interviews including an exclusive national magazine spread. There's no doubt that Shelley Perfect is making an impact and winning the hearts of fashion enthusiasts across the globe.
