November 06, 2006 - Sharjah International Airport is participating at the World Travel Market from the 6th to the 9th of November 2006.
Sharjah has been represented in numerous international markets in 2006 and the WTM exhibition in Excel, London promises to be just as rewarding. Sharjah International Airport and SATA were also in Russia at the “Moscow Leisure 2006” in September where Sharjah enjoyed a prominent stage.
Representing the airport delegation are Ali Salem Al Midfa; Director Sharjah Airport Authority and Donald D'Souza; Business Development Manager. Also traveling is Mr. Hossam Tallat; General Manager of the Sharjah Airport Travel Agency (SATA).
Commenting on this participation, Mr. Ali Salem Al Midfa Director Sharjah Airport Authority said: “The World Travel Market provides an excellent opportunity to meet up with the World’s leading experts in the travel and tourism industry, the airlines, the organizers, the leading hotels, and the well known media groups from all over the world. We find the exhibition an effective tool to promote our facilities and services, our expansion plans, be abreast of the latest in the industry, discuss and negotiate with potential clients of possible deals”.
Figures released by the Sharjah International Airport this year have shown not only a boom in passenger traffic but also a rise in the tourist profiles coming to the emirate. Recent statistics showed that passenger movement through Sharjah International Airport increased by 37% from 1.6 million passengers during the period (Jan-Sept 2005) to 2.23 million passengers during the period (Jan-Sept 2006)
