Share Distribution Lists And Receive Appointment Change Notifications In Microsoft Outlook With OfficeCalendar v4

Lookout Software, LLC announces the release of OfficeCalendar v4: Share Microsoft® Outlook™ calendar, contact and task information and more with colleagues and coworkers

Dallas, TX (1888PressRelease) November 02, 2007 - Lookout Software LLC., has just released OfficeCalendar Version 4 (http://www.officecalendar.com), an easy to use software alternative to Microsoft Exchange Server that allows users to easily share their Outlook calendars, contacts, and tasks; create multiple group calendars; and more.

Says OfficeCalendar customer, Dennis Everett… “As our business grew, we needed to get away from our paper-based appointment and calendar system. We needed more visibility and flexibility primarily for scheduling appointments, both for our staff and for our customers visiting our facility. We wanted to stay within the Outlook framework, but didn’t need or want the complexity and expense of the Exchange server product,” said Everett.

Not only does OfficeCalendar allow users to easily share Outlook calendars, contacts and tasks, as well as create multiple group calendars for powerful yet easy-to-use group scheduling; the latest version offers two exciting new features: the ability to share Outlook Distribution Lists and receive notifications when changes are made to your Outlook calendar.

With OfficeCalendar v4, users can now share Outlook Distribution Lists just as they would share their contacts, with the same comprehensive Outlook sharing security features applied. Outlook appointment notifications are also now available as a feature with OfficeCalendar Version 4, allowing users the ability to turn on pop-up notifications to alert them of modifications made to their Outlook calendar by other users.

Of course, OfficeCalendar remains dedicated to providing a low-cost, easy-to-use, Exchange Server alternative for small to mid-size businesses and professional organizations. “OfficeCalendar’s behavior from the end-user perspective is almost identical to that of MS Exchange,” said Robert Barber, another OfficeCalendar customer. “This allows IT to implement a minimalistic, cost-effective solution without the need for Outlook end-user training.”

OfficeCalendar works directly with Outlook and does not require server-based OS platforms or additional hardware. Its ease of use and simple installation process makes the product ideal for companies with little to no IT resources. “I have purchased your amazing calendar software package and implemented 7 user licensing,” said Jim Rash, another OfficeCalendar customer. “Your software is perfect for small businesses without the desire to have server based integrated computing interface.”

Each person wishing to share Outlook calendars, contacts, and/or tasks using OfficeCalendar must have a copy of Microsoft Outlook 2000, XP, 2003 or 2007. However, OfficeCalendar can work with a mixture of these Outlook versions. OfficeCalendar does not work with Microsoft Outlook Express, a different product from Microsoft Outlook.
