November 23, 2006 - Kingston, ONT — Sentry Security Systems Inc. is pleased to announce the release of version 5.12 of the Sentry RP Series DVR software. This version provides increased usability and user-friendliness through improved navigation and layout. Its new graphical interface is more attractive to the eye, and helps make the system easier to setup and configure. The Sentry RP Series of DVR is a high quality digital video recorder supporting up to 40 cameras, providing real-time audio/video using H.264 hardware compression technology and offering the capability to record video at full D1 (704x480).

One of the important features the Sentry RP Series of DVRs continue to offer that positions it apart from the competition is the ability to set remote and local video recording settings independently. This permits remote users to view and record video at higher frame rates yet still record video locally at a higher quality (Differing Recording/Remote Transmission Quality and Frame Size).
The Sentry RP Series of DVRs is from the Sentry R Series family of PC-based, Embedded and Video Web Server systems providing remotely compatible audio and video, so that the correct type of system can be matched to the needs of each location. Audio and video from all types of R Series systems can be received, displayed and recorded in the same remote Client PCs. This allows configuration of the optimal digital video security solution when demanding security applications require real-time, high-resolution video with small frame sizes in multiple locations.
