SeeNews Launches The First Business Information Portal For Southeast Europe

SeeNews, the leading business information provider for Southeast Europe (SEE), launched on Sunday a new web portal to answer the needs of financial professionals, company executives and investors in the region.

(1888PressRelease) June 04, 2007 - “The portal is based on a very simple concept: to be the first to gather into one location up-to-date business-crucial information about the fast-growing markets of the SEE region. The portal features a series of information tools, services and products, ranging from sophisticated engines for archiving or web search to news, analysis, tender and deals databases and event management facilities,” said Ilia Krustev, Director Information Services.

Focusing on topics and events critical for businesses, SeeNews provides the most extensive selection of continuously updating news, analysis, interviews, research, company financial data, as well as financial markets data from SEE.

“The new portal is a step forward and mirrors SeeNews expansion from a real-time newswire to a business information gateway to SEE. By providing timely, accurate, reliable, and in-depth news and research, we guide local and foreign players in the SEE market in taking informed strategic decisions. Our team of journalists, researchers, analysts and editors operates within the best professional practices that ensure accuracy and deliver comprehensive and exclusive coverage allowing businesses to spot market opportunities and threats,” said Dessislava Popova, SeeNews Editor-in-Chief.

Together with the portal, SeeNews releases SeePassport: a tool for registration and management of customer portfolios, which enables access to the whole range of the SeeNews group of products and services from one location. It enables subscribers and registered users to manage product portfolios, make e-transactions and personalise content and functionalities.

SeePassport supports a number of user-friendly services to answer the specific needs of the portal’s visitors. The Pay-per-View service gives immediate online access to single news items on an ad hoc basis, only when customers need it. The SeeNews Access service allows unlimited access to comprehensive, online business information, including more than 100,000 news articles about the emerging markets in SEE covering a wide range of business topics, analysis, brokers’ reports and industry and country reports, and other third party data.

As of June 3, 2007 SeeNews will also offer its customers a package of free services, including E-mail Alerts Services and Newsletters aiming to save time and deliver the specific information which matters to each customer when needed and where needed. SeeNews offers innovative functionalities based on the latest state-of-the art technologies in web programming. The new portal is developed upon an open source platform. The opportunities for interactive communication are in the core of the Web 2.0 philosophy. The usage of Ajax technology in SeeNews development results in more effective and faster review of the content.

The project, which includes the portal and the supporting content management and CRM systems, has been developed in the last ten months by the SeeNews team and the Bulgarian IT firm Ladger dot com. Ladger dot com (www.ladger.com) is a company specialising in design, development, support and integration of software applications. The SeeNews team remains committed to the further improvement and development of the products and services offered and plans to integrate and streamline company, industry and country information databases into the new portal. The goal of the product, SeeNews – Research & Profiles, is to provide businesses with an extensive tool for building their investment strategies and to enhance their ability to explore new revenue opportunities in the region.

We look forward to welcoming you at www.seenews.com – the business information gateway to Southeast Europe.
