April 23, 2009 - Secretary of State joined Deborah Dowdell, New Jersey Restaurant Association (NJRA) President, and Jeffry Zeiger, General Manager, Trenton Marriot at the Lafayette Yard in the Marriot, Trenton, NJ to celebrate New Jersey Restaurant Week, April 20th – 27th, as proclaimed by Governor Corzine. Hundreds of restaurants throughout the state will be offering special deals and discounts to their customers in acknowledgment of the contributions of one of the state’s most vital industries.
The state and NJRA are actively encouraging New Jersey residents to “Dine Out Often” and help restore the economy. New Jersey’s restaurant industry comprises nearly 16,000 full, casual and quick service restaurants, employing a labor force of more than 205,000.
NJRA provides training in food safety, alcohol server responsibility, guest loyalty and language training, and has trained more than 4,000 people over the past two and half years. In addition, NJRA has launched its “Dine Out Often” campaign earlier this year to highlight the tremendous array of dining choices for every taste and budget, emphasizing the diversity that characterizes our state.
Not only can New Jersey residents take advantage of Restaurant Week to help the state’s economy, they will also have an opportunity to take full advantage of the culinary riches New Jersey has to offer. During New Jersey’s Restaurant Week, restaurants will feature varying dining values to suite every budget.
A list of participating restaurants will be available at www.DineOutNJ.com.
