March 23, 2007 - Until March 25 Nonvaleur Shop, one of the biggest German online scripophily dealers, offers more than 750 antique stocks and bonds within an extra sale. The sale is located at auction platform eBay, the majority of the offers is set with a starting price of approx. $1. “Of course this matter of fact is very interesting for people ‘hunting’ for good deals”, Volker Malik, operator of the Nonvaleur Shop, confirms general thoughts. “But you have to consider: Items selling for hundreds of dollars in the past won’t sell for a buck now …”, he adds with a smile ... calming down the collectors which could fear many items would be sold too cheap.
Objects of special attention will be offered stocks and bonds from Russia.
Russian securities experience a proper boom for some years. No miracle: Due to the economic upswing in the former czarist empire the demand for its’ often quite rare pieces is nearly infinite.
Another highlight is a really decorative stock certificate of Societe Generale des Automobiles Porthos, issued by the French automobile company in 1907. Price went up to more than $600 for a similar one sold in a public auction before.
