Scouler & Company Enhances Midwest Presence; Opens Cleveland Office; Names Strazzella To Lead

Scouler & Company, the Los Angeles-based financial services and restructuring firm, further fueled its expansion momentum with the hiring of senior financial executive Alex Strazzella to open the company’s Cleveland office.

(1888PressRelease) April 02, 2008 - With the addition of an operational foothold in the Midwest region, Scouler & Company has doubled in size since opening just six months ago.

The Cleveland location joins the New York, Los Angeles and Atlanta offices. Founder and Managing Principal Dan Scouler noted, “Strazzella is precisely the kind of savvy, seasoned professional that clients expect to find at Scouler & Company. A banker by profession and accountant by training, Strazzella brings three decades of client-side experience to the table.”

Most recently, Strazzella worked as a senior vice president in the leveraged cash flow, asset based lending and asset recovery groups at KeyBank, which presented opportunities to hone his negotiating and deal skills while crafting consensual resolutions that optimized returns for all parties. While at KeyBank, Strazzella managed a lending portfolio in excess of $1 Billion in commitments.

Strazzella earned an M.B.A. and B.S. in accounting from Chaminade University in Hawaii. After a short stint in public accounting, Strazzella found himself drawn to the complexities of finance, joining First Interstate Bank of Hawaii, followed by positions of increasing responsibility at BankBoston and Fleet Bank. Strazzella has augmented his practical credentials with continuing professional education including seminars such as Chase Credit Analysis, Deanco Cash Flow, MFA Workouts and Turnarounds, Maine Real Estate Foreclosure Procedures, and BankBoston courses on Advanced Commercial Lending, Bankruptcy and Foreclosure Law.

As head of the Midwest Scouler & Company office, Strazzella expects to deal with the fallout from tightening credit markets, slumping real estate, rocketing oil prices, and soft consumer confidence as the shockwaves affect commercial activities throughout the Midwest. Strazzella has worked with many mid-market companies in a wide spectrum of industries ranging from lumber mills and building materials, to construction contractors and developers, as well as a host of automotive-related suppliers, including metal stampers, parts fabricators and steel processors.

The Scouler & Company/Cleveland office is located at 600 Superior Avenue East, Suite 1300, Cleveland, Ohio, 44114, phone number 216.522.1901 and is now operational. For additional information, visit the company web site at www.scouler.com or call 310.229.5900.
