April 27, 2009 - Just for better understanding, on the forward end of the propeller shaft, there is a half coupling that is press fitted on the propeller shaft taper. Half coupling in turn is then bolted to the intermediate shaft via bolts. The torque from half coupling to propeller shaft is transmitted due to the friction created by press fitting.
Schaaf GmbH supplied the complete set of tools for two ship sets for the project including Hydraulic Nuts of 320mm dia, Hydraulic High Pressure Hand Pumps of 1600 bar, high pressure adaptors and hoses.The delivery was made within 90 days of order receipt.
